Need 1981 club car 36 volt forward and reverse switch pn#
I'm restoring an 81 electric club car, so far finding part numbers had been easy- I'm now into 6 new t105 batteries / fully charged and 5 new quality solonids, new key switch, new micro switch, new wires, , and now I'm ready to ride- around the yard one time - ran like new then parked it.. My 35 year battery charger says incomplete when trying charge--- batteries show 38 volts on this 36 volt cart-. Tried to go for a ride the next day selected reverse the buzzer buzzed - then sparked and smoked a little- now no reverse and no forward. 100 websites selling 83and +, where or how do I get my hands on a forward reverse switch for this 81 club car /electric.. are there any out there or any available ones that I could rework to fit and operate correctly. Thanks for reading.

I've got several switches in a box but I have no idea what they fit. I'll try to look at them today.

Re: Need 1981 club car 36 volt forward and reverse switch pn#
Well, it is all about choices....
To the original poster, we are taking about the terminal labeled "1/2 throttle" that it is used to provide the positive power for reverse. The OEM wiring has that cable going to the battery post that provides +18v as measured from pack negative (approx half the forward speed). If You want more speed on reverse, You can wire that terminal to the +24v, +30v or pack positive battery post. If You decide You want the same speed forward and reverse (pack voltage), You can also put a jumper between the 2 bottom terminals of the FNR and run a single cable to pack positive battery post. |

Its been awhile since I looked through my stuff. The box that I thought were F/R switches were 2 prong charger receptacles. You know what they say about the second thing to go. LOL!
