I had the same issue, and I left the existing cable through the OBC in place, and ran the new 2 ga cable in parallel (but obviously bypassing the OBC). I have read that the OBC measures the amount of current used, and charges the battery accordingly, so I was concerned that the OBC would not see the current going through the new 2 ga cable. The cart seems to be running fine for the past few months.

Is this something I need to address, or is the OBC seeing enough of the current?

It needs to be addressed as the OBC cannot measure the current being carried by the new 2ga cable.

The best method is to use a stud through the OBC and a separate 2ga cable for each side of the OBC.

Thanks for the clarification, I thought you had one of the meter probes on the pack negative or B-, which would be the wrong test.

The controller should not be activating the main solenoid unless the pedal micro-switch is closed.

You need to make sure the micro-switch works.

So, with the pedal up there shouldn't be pack voltage across the small terminals on the solenoid... correct? If pack voltage is present across the small solenoid terminals no matter where the pedal position is then the mico-switch inside the potentiometer is bad.

No, that usually means the controller is bad since it is engaging the solenoid without any input from the pedal switch.

The old Regen2 was unusual, so I cannot say with 100% confidence that it did not behave differently than modern controllers.

Either way the pedal micro-switch provides an input to the controller and if you don't get any continuity on the wires coming from the pedal micro-switch, it needs to be replaced.

I think I need to recheck the continuity across the mico switch, I can't remember if I depressed the pedal when I checked it. Wouldn't I need to do this to close the switch and get continuity?

Yes the pedal needs to be depressed for the micro-switch to close.

With pedal depressed I do get continuity across the micro- switch.
