Key "on" drains battery
My mom's EZGO golf cart routinely gets left with the key in the ignition and in the 'on' position with no trouble. She gets on and goes.
If I leave the key 'on' in my EZGO cart overnight, it drains the batteries. Yes, I know the directions say to turn the key off, put in neutral, etc. and I try to remember to do that every time, but if something distracts me, I forget on occasion and come back to a dead cart. Since my mom's (basically identical) cart doesn't do that, is there something wrong with hers... or mine? Is there something in the wiring that could be causing this discrepancy? Any suggestions on what to look for, would be appreciated. If it can't be changed, I don't want to spend a lot of time and effort trying to fix something that isn't broken. Thank you. |

Re: Key "on" drains battery
You may have a DC reducer drawing power in your cart which she does not.
