Its been a while since I did mine...don't you need some additive too?
25 oz of gear oil and 2oz of friction modifier.

just finished this. Used one of those quart bottle oil hand pumps (amazon around $12). The rubber hose fits in the vent hole when the vent is removed (pried out). less than 5 mins, to pump the oil and additive in.

Hey man I am about to do the same thing. So all you did was jack the cart up and pour the oil in the drain hole? Then take the vent hole out and pour the rest in there?

the problem is the drain hole is on the surface above the lowest point of the pan. draining out the plug will not empty the diff. you can either extract the remaining oil or drop the pan and remake the gasket. using the hand-pump you can pump the oil in through the vent hole with the vent cap removed.

No gasket used, just silicone sealant.

IMO the best silicone sealant is Permatex “The Right Stuff”. Its used by several automotive manufacturers at assembly lines. It’s a bit expensive but I have NEVER had a leak. Been using it for 15 yrs l, mostly car/truck applications. Only downside is it’s sticks to everything so cleanup can be messy.
