Question 2001 ezgo txt slipping in transmission

Hey guys, first time trying this so here goes.

My ezgo recently started making a grinding noise when I let off the accelerator, so I jacked up the rear end to check the hubs only to find that they were fine. the cart will still move and passenger side wheel turns just fine but the drivers side is not moving very much when go pedal is applied. I also removed the drivers side axle to inspect the threads on the side going into the diff gears. the splines look fine. Any suggestions on what this might be??? Thanks in advance.

If electric and it only happens when you left off the accelerator pedal then this is the way I have fixed it in mine..... pull the motor and in the armature shaft of the motor put a penny in it.... install motor..... the reason of this is bc the armature is spinning and when you let off the pedal it starts to free spin and move in the motor and there is a little gap to the rear end..... the penny takes up that gap.... hope this helps and if that's confusing please let me know

A penny? Hmmmm. New one on me. Or just buy a new spline bumper plug. Less than $2 24261G1

Also it is normal for just one wheel to spin when the rear is in the air. The normal stock rear is not a positrack. You might still have a bad hub. Torque them to 140 lbs and see if your noise goes away.

Grinding noise could be. A Axle bearing, or the input shaft bearings.

Its electric. and that makes sense jeepfreak because I changed the motor out recently and noticed the bumper plug was missing. didn't think it would make that much of a difference! but I wont make that mistake twice!! When I get some time off Monday im going to try out the penny idea to see if that makes the noise go away until I can get a plug ordered. thanks guys. ill post the results on here as soon as I can.

Rib 33024, I thought the same thing so I checked the bearings on the drivers side when I removed the axle and they spun smooth and easy. haven't got around to the input shaft but ill check it when I take the motor off.
