Tires - Wanda vs. EFX cost difference worth it?
I'm getting 12" wheels with 215/50 tires.
They are available as a set, with Wanda tires on them, for about $470. The EFX tires are over $120 more for the set. I don't mind spending the extra money, if need be, as I'm looking for ride quality/stability up to 28mph. Anyone have experience with either/both, for making a recommendation? |

I had a 180mph car that I had no problem paying for top quality tires.
My 25mph cart doesnt get the same respect😛 |

You didn't say what tread pattern but the metric sizing suggests they are more of a street pattern. Either should do well for pavement stability and durability. Especially with 12" diameter rims.
My first set of all terrain tires on 8" rims lasted 16 years. |

Re: Tires - Wanda vs. EFX cost difference worth it?
At 28 mph I'm guessing it's used mostly on pavement, so a more closed tread pattern will ride better and quieter. the 50 series sidewall will be a stiffer ride, but much better stability than a taller sidewall tire. Beyond that it's mainly appearance - what "look" are you going for. It's incredibly rare for golf cart tires, of any size or brand, to wear out. Vast majority dry rot and start losing air through cracks in the tread & sidewall before they ever wear out.

Which tires are these?
Is the reason the EFX are more expensive because they are DOT tires vs the Wanda? And if you haven't yet, Look a Golf Cart Tire supply for you wheel/tire combo. http://www.golfcarttiresupply.com/ |

Quote:
The low profile (205/50, 205/65, 215/40, 215/50, etc) EFX tires and the Wanda golf cart tires are both DOT approved and can both handle 28mph. With EFX, you are paying for the brand name, the unique tread pattern design (which the wanda is 90% the same looking) and a slightly longer warranty. Give us a call and we are happy to help you out. We pre-mount more than 50% of our wheel and tire combos on Wanda tires and have had stellar review these past 4 years. Please keep in mind that we price match if you found the 12" Wheel and 215/50-12" Combo for less somewhere else. Thanks! |

Definitely 99% street.
I've driven a few carts where slight out-of-roundness was fine at slower speeds, but caused stability issues over 20(ish). I'd heard from a few people that the Wandas were not as stable at high speed. But, that may have been the 2-ply version. |
