Default Alltrax XCT Install Question

2015 TXT48 this is the old controller. Notice the 4 wire plug on the bottom left. What is it and does it go on the new controller if so where?

Also is the Regen Diode installed correctly.

Not an expert or anything, but pretty sure your diode is supposed to be on the small coil terminals with the side with gray ring to positive terminal. Should have a resistor between large terminals, and it isn't polarity specific.

The Regen Diode is correctly installed. (Banded end towards the high current cable that is connected directly to the main B+ terminal on battery pack)

You are missing a diode between the two small terminals (coil). (The banded end goes towards the small terminal with the yellow wire on it)

The XCT does not use a pre-charge resistor between the large terminals. (Filter capacitors are pre-charged via control harness wiring)

The XCT controller has a built in voltage suppression diode.
Putting a suppression diode on the small solenoid terminals is redundant and invites damage done by reversed installation, which we have seen may times here on BGW.

Scotty, the suppression diode is shown on all of the installation schematics in the XCT/NCT operators manual currently downloadable from the Alltrax website. Copy attached.

The Alltrax manuals are constantly on my desk. I have spoken with Alltrax Support about this item on numerous occasions. Not installing the diode does not effect the warranty. Installing the diode incorrectly damages the cart. I have about 500 1st try cart mechanics to advise annually. Of those 500, 100 will put the diode on backwards and swear on a stack of bibles they followed instructions correctly and the cart is damaged. I'm taking the safest route.

Well the B2 motor is on the 2g wires are on and the XCT is in. Tanks to Scottyb http://www.cartsunlimited.net/ for all the help and putting up with me. I turned the solenoid over to help with getting to the Run/Tow switch. The switch is big so up is Run and Down is Tow Maintenance.
