Solenoid diode

Well that must be a resistor. If it's like a CC it won't keep it from running.

Does one wire from solenoid go to controller B+, and one to pack?

Put the assembly back on the solenoid like you found it. The red insulation on the assembly should go the battery side of the solenoid according to the diode symbol visible in the pix. You need to do some troubleshooting before jumping to conclusions. The lower voltage on one side of the big solenoid contacts is normal with the resistor installed. The diodes are installed in the reverse direction across the resistor so they don't conduct. The first thing you should do is determine if the solenoid clicks when you press the pedal. I am not sure why the diodes are installed across the resistor but they should be ok to leave them on as long as they are not shorted. If they were shorted you would have the same voltage on both ends. The resistor supplies a keep alive power to the controller to reduce peak current when the solenoid energizes.

I have done tons of troubleshooting. I followed the steps in the troubleshooting manual I got off of this site step by step. Everything was great until I got to this step.

Yes, and the lower voltage is normal. And yes he needs to troubleshoot it.

If the diode has been shorted wouldn't it be blown out?

.1 to 3.0 volts less is what the manual says. Not 10volts like what it is.

Solenoid does not click. My question is. Is it not clicking because of the faulty diode assembly?

The trouble shooting manual says if the voltage it the same from post to post on the solenoid, the solenoid is bad and needs replaced. But if there is a voltage drop more than .1 to 3 volts, the diode assembly is faulty and needs replaced.

Problem is, i haven’t been able to find one like what is on it. Only a metal one like one of the pics I posted.

Does that manual show a diode across the large terminals of the solenoid?

Yes, that’s the diode I took a picture of. It goes from big post to big post on the solenoid
