Default Onward USB ports INOP?

Bought some little LED USB powered lights for when we take the kids around on Halloween, but when I plug them into my Onward USB ports it seems like neither port is getting any power. Any tips for a fix?

I also tested them with a simple USB phone cord and no response either.

I think the key may need to be on.

I checked my Onward last night and the usb jack has power all of the time. I think the factory 12v reducer only has a fuse on the input power side so if your lights work but the usb does not it may have a loose plug or something. The usb jack pulls right out to check the plug on the back. Although I will tell you I thought mine was messing up once and it ended up being a beat usb cable. And the beat usb cable did work on an outlet I have in my house but not in the cart for some reason, so make sure you are trying another cable just to make sure.

And surprisingly, for reasons I don’t understand, the only cable that will charge my iPhone in the cart is the standard Apple lighting cable that comes with the phone. Any aftermarket lightning cable doesn’t even register on my phone for some reason, or will work once and never again. I now have dedicated cart cables that I leave in it all of the time (lightning and micro usb).

The answer was the USB cord must be shielded and the 3 cords I tried were not.

Maybe that is why some people plug into my USB charge port (added on) and theirs will not work....)

I tried aftermarket USB cables and none of them worked, the only one that worked for me was a factory cables that came with my phone.

My onward USB is sensitive. I purchased USB lights for Christmas and Halloween they would not work through outlet. I used a USB power Brick to power lights.
