Motor types
Are there different motor types in txt carts? Do all motors interchange as long as the spline is the same?

series motor most often (but not always as I have found) will have two terminals labeled S1 and S2, sepex normally has the same two terminals labeled F1 and F2. Both motors will have an A1 and A2 terminal. This is a good rule of thumb, but you should always consult the diagram referenced above to be 100% sure. |

Thanks, but this is my first time on here and I can’t find the stickies. Where are they located?

Re: Motor types
Something doesn’t make sense! My cart has tow switch and DCS 9 pin controller and S1,S2 labeled terminals motor has small gage copper wire field.

The field terminals on a stock DCS motor were labeled S1 & S2, which caused a lot of headaches for cart mechanics. If the label was missing or damaged, there was no way to tell a DCS sepex motor from a series motor short of removing it fro m the cart and looking at the field windings. Field winding terminals on the PDS and later sepex drive motors are labeled F1 & F2. |

Re: Motor types
Thank you. I have another question. After taking the motor apart, I found that one of the field terminals had melted through the plastic insert that it is seated in making contact with the motor casing. I assume this is grounding out and possibly causing my issue. Thoughts?
