Default 2002 ezgo txt pds 36v, grinding noise when driving or rolling the cart

The cart runs fine to speed and reverse. However, there is a loud grinding noise. I jacked it up, checked and changed gear oil. Gears look great, oil was clean. I can turn wheels by hand, no noise. Gear box does not seem to make the noise. It sounds like it is from the motor. Grinding/whining noise. Any thoughts? Motor bearings?

Replace the transaxle input shaft and bearings.

Is that hard to do or expensive?

Should I replace these parts:

24261-G1 spline bumper

I am looking for the transaxle input shaft on parts diagrams.

Thanks Johnnie! Does it matter that mine is a 2002 and this goes to 1995?

Ezgo has used the same transaxle for years. The one the RXV uses is different (limited slip), but I'm pretty sure the one used in the TXT-48 is essentially the same. I know it is the same as the one in my 2008 TXT-PDS.

Your 2002 TXT-PDS has 12.44:1 gears.

Thank you. I will probably do the replacement soon. It seems ok driving for now. Just a bit noisy in my opinion.
