TXT 48 Won't Move
I got a call from a friend of mine that has a TXT 48 with the newer style front end, not sure what year though. Cart stopped while driving, .so he towed it a mile back to the house. The cart charges to about 50 volts, the pedal switch clicks and the solenoid clicks but cart won't move. The reverse buzzer does work.
When he towed it he put the cart in neutral but didn't flip the run/tow switch to tow. I haven't seen the cart yet, just wondering what to check first. Any coaching would be appreciated. |

Re: TXT 48 Won't Move
Before it might’ve been easy but now after towing it... very possibly the motor and/or controller.

Read this article on towing a txt that doesn't have a run\tow switch. Depending on how fast your cart towing speed was may determine if no damage was done. |

Re: TXT 48 Won't Move
The TXT48 does have a Tow/Run switch. They are Sepex carts.

Re: TXT 48 Won't Move
Dave,
EZGO stopped making series drive golf carts in about 2010, not sure of exact cut-off date. -------- Something else to consider when towing an electric cart, either series or sepex (with switch in Tow) is the towing speed. The effective final drive ratio for a cart with stock height tires and gears is 16.59:1 and the motor is direct drive, so the motor spins 16.6 time every time the tire rotates once and the motor RPMs add up pretty quickly. Since 6000 RPM is the max RPM for most motors, 26MPH would be the max towing speed. OF course, the max towing speed for a specific cart will depend on tire height and gear ratio of the specific cart. |

Re: TXT 48 Won't Move
This cart is lifted with 23" tires and he said he towed it slow since his 12 year old son with steering it.
