Default Motor terminals ezgo 36 v motor

Old motor has terminals marked A1&A2 - S1&S2. New motor has terminals A1&A2 - F1&F2. Will it run?

You have a series drive system A1- S1. The motor with the A1-F1 is a Sepex drive system, two different systems/motors. No the new motor A1-F1 will not work

The exception being the early DCS motors which were marked with S terminals.
Which drive system is the cart?

The standard nomenclature for electric motors uses s1 and s2 for series wound motors and f1 and f2 for sepex (shunt wound) motors. However, as scotty said above ezgo sold some carts with sepex motors labeled s1 and s2.

Post more specific info about your cart's drive system and these guys will point you in the right direction. What does your f/r switch look like and where is it located?

It is of interest to note the sepex motors Ezgo produced with the A and S terminals were the first sepex motors. The 1995 was the worlds first SEPEX cart. It's a good one with a nice mix of torque and speed.
The original controller had a fatal flaw but an Alltrax replacement fixes that. The only downfall remaining is the system's inability to limit rpm or generate any regenerative braking.
