Default Missing A2 connection on controller.

I have 1997 TXT non DCS with out a blade for A2. Never had one. I do have another controller with this A2 blade. Wire goes to F/R switch. The motor turns and speed control functions when ACCIDENTALLY a jumper wire connected to B- dropped onto M-. I was performing diagnostic testing for a non moving cart.

I am not getting any voltage when between M- and B+, determined that controller is possible problem. Can I install this four blade controller and add connection to F/R switch. Second question is: did the jumper wire drop complete a bad connection inside the bad controller. I tried it numerous times a d worked every time. Jumper wire was a 18 gauge alligator clip wire what got warm but not burning hot. Cart rear wheels lifted and speed controls functional. Did not drive with this jury rigged.

Talking Re: Missing A2 connection on controller.

The A-2 was a dummy connection. The controller with it will work just fine. The connection on the controller was for the cables to be put together that's all. Later controllers didn't have it they ran the longer cables straight to the F/R cam.

Just a clarification, that is not just a "dummy" connection, it is designed so the Controller can provide "Plug Brake".

If You are not using plug brake then you do not need to connect anything to the A2 tab on the Controller.

May I ask what Plug Brake is sir?

I never herd of it. Did 89 Ezgo carts have this? If they did I never knew it. I have owned several older Marathon carts with the A-2 connection and I don't recall any of them having plug braking.

Question Re: Missing A2 connection on controller.

So the early EZGO controller had this feature but nobody ever talked about it. I have worked on several of these old carts and never herd of it. Later years I did hear people talk about it and that's when I noticed the A-2 terminals where gone from the controller. So what does the series carts without the A-2 do for this?
