97 club car ds 48 volt running slow
So i just brought this cart back from the dead. It’s been abandon for a few years in a yard. After replacing a few things finally got it running by replacing the Curtis 1204-410 with 225 amp with a 48 volt Curtis 325 amp. Motor is a club car 3.10 horsepower special service. My question is why is the cart slow? Is it normal for these cars to go so slow? Brakes where rusty and locking up but took them abart and clean them out and they are smooth now so I know that’s not the issue. so what can I do to make it go faster with the controller I just installed. Is there anything I can do to the motor to get it moving faster without having to replace controller again which was a little on the expensive side.

It’s a series cart with that controller, right? What’s the health of the pack?

I got 4 brand new batteries and 2 that were refurbished. Voltage is good holds good charge and all. And yes it is a series cart

I'd be cautious about using two refurbished batteries with four new ones. The new ones could get crippled by the refurbished, or, if the refurbished batteries fail, they take the new ones with them.

Yeah I will be replacing them before I get this cart fully ready to use. But in the mean while I just wanna get it going a little faster. What’s the most horsepower I can do with the 325 amp controller I have on it now.

How slow is the cart? What speed is it and what do you want?
