Battery trouble

I have a 2000 ezgo txt I have converted to 48vlt. 8-6vlts 4 guage wire, 700 amp alltrax, and all the other upgrades including an inboard 48vlt charger. Six of my batteries(original set) are t105 bought in 2007. When I did the conversion in 2008 I bought two more which were excide. I have run the whole set completely dead approx 3 times and pretty close a few others. This last year I really noticed a quick decline in the life of a charge and it is half of what it was a year ago. I had planned on replacing them all but I checked them today and all the t105 and one of the excides show 6.21-6.24 and one of the excides shows 6.17. This is after the cart has been off a full charge and sat for about a week. I had my wife get in the cart, hold the brake and push the accelerator. The cart would drop to as low as 5.43. Any body have any ideas.

Sounds like your batteries are done for. They hold a surface charge but fade fast under load. Typical of 3-4 yr old batteries.

What should they hold at under load

Can anyone give me the numbers 6 vlt batteries should read on a meter after a full charge without a load and also with a load on them.

Under a load the pack my read down to 45-46v momentarily, depending upon the load. The situation with your batteries is they can not sustain a load because the plates are likely very sulfated, based upon information you have given and their age. Here is the battery chart for reference on fully charged etc.

Thanks scotty, I am still planning on getting the set of cables from you but hnas been tight. I am fixing to drop about 1600 on it between batteries, cables and a double selinoid f/r set up

I have the reversing contactor for the F&R. Actually costs a little less and only one solenoid to mount.

Do you have any info on it, I am planning on moving the two extra batteries from my bag well and putting them under my seat. So I need to put a new F/R instead of the rotary style and move my charger and controller. Any extra info or ideas would be appreciated.

You need this and a F&R rocker switch like Ezgo uses ... It is beefy .

how does it hook up and doe you just need a F/R switch to make it work. My controller is a 700 amp and a D&D 8.5 hp high torque, will that be a problem?
