Default Batteries get hot when cart is driven

My club has an EZGO PDS cart whose batteries get hot (the whole pack) during a round of golf. Have compared it to their other carts and this ones are significantly warmer. What could be causing this

Heat indicates resistance. Bad connections dirty resistance corroded cables, that sort of thing?

Tks, resistance is the likely problem. Saw this on the web quote" Sulphation increases the internal resistance of a battery, causing high operating temperatures resulting in electrolyte boiling and warping plates" Club now tells me they also get hot when on charge. Batteries are 3yrs old, well used and maintenance probably leaves a lot to be desired.
