Took it for a 5 mile ride today on a fully charged battery pack. All paved roads for the most part, some off road, but across mowed fields. Ran the GPS app while riding and came up with the following:

Top Speed = 13mph
Slowest = 6mph
Average = 9.3mph

Not bad for an 89 resistor cart with the only electronics upgrade being 2ga wiring.

We have been pretty busy with Football Season and Marching Season for the band, I haven't done anything as far as upgrading the card. There is a noise coming from the back right of the rear axle that I will have look at this off season. Here are a couple of pics that I got to take in front of the scoreboard.

Good job on that cart, and for the cause too I'm working on a 93 Marathon myself and seeing your end result look so nice and clean really gives me hope. Hopefully the rear noise will be fixed by a simple action of removing the brake drum and releasing the rust demons.

I am going to do some this winter. It is a lot easier to work on things in the winter in Texas then it is in Michigan.

Oh please. You think that just because your cart is done you can leave us hanging for months at a time.

Yup. That is what "Completed" means. I get to lurk and chime in whenever I feel that the other guys arent giving you enough of a hard time.

I guess everyone is right. Completed doesn't really mean done, just taking a break.

The cart has been working really well the last year or so, but now it is time to work on the electrical portion.

So........

Pulled the seat off, took out all the batteries and will be replacing them soon. Removed all of the wiring and the old rusted out battery boxes.

Got the new battery boxes made using the old batteries as mockups

and will be welding them in as soon as I have some time.

Got the new battery boxes welded in over the weekend. Its not pretty but it works.

Now off to find and print the wiring diagram, install the batteries and the new cables and see if this thing works...
