Default Concerns I have With My EZGO TXT Pics Inside

I'm new to the board here but i plan to stay a while

I recently purchased a used series 2005 EZGO TXT.

My first concern is some kind of hardware mounted to the front of it. Does anyone know what this is? Is it okay for me to remove it? Pic Below

My second concern is what i think is the heat sink around the speed controller? It looks like it is corroded or something. What do you guys think? Anything I can do to fix this?

My cart came with the charger inside of it? I read the front of it and it warns that it should not be in an enclosed area, I decided to take it out and use it outside of the cart sitting on the ground.

Anyway i bought this cart for $1500. It came with new Trojan batteries and runs good and looks clean. I hope I didnt overpay for it.

That hardware is part of the tow system when one cart is towed with another and no driver in the towed cart. I could use that....lol

The heat sink....there was a post earlier about them. Had ways to clean them pretty easy but I cannot find it right now.

Chargers always like air circulation...

Price sounds good. Really varies depending on where you are.

Yes you can rip out the tow parts.

The heat sink isn't pretty but should be ok. You can replace it if you wish. A new one is about $25

If it is just in there, it was probably just in there for keeping it with the cart and out of the weather, pull it out to charge.

$1500 with new batteries is a pretty decent deal.

Welcome to the craziness !!

If you got new batteries then you got your money worth. A good set of batteries can be around $900 alone. As far as the charger, I leave the one in the cart I am using; I just take the seat off to let it air while charging.

If I can jump in here with a quick questioni for Sams.....is it important to leave the seat up/off during charging? Thanks.
P.S. I think $1,500 for that cart with new batteries sounds like a great deal.

Sounds like a sweet deal to me! I'm with kgsc on this, most people just stick the charger under the seat to keep it with the cart, unless it it bolted down, it is not meant to be an "on board" charger. (you don't want to get it wet) They get pretty hot, so if you do leave it on the cart, you will want to keep the seat open for sure.

Oh....I was thinking he meant he left the seat open when charging, even when the charger isn't under the seat. Should we still be leaving the seat open when charging w/o the charger there?
