Default 96 EZGO Txt. Nothing happens

Hello to all. I have a 96 txt that takes charge, beep when you put in reverse but when you accelerate, nothing happens. I tried removing the resistor from the solenoid and jumping it but the cable sparks.

Any advise?

PSM

Can we first determine your type of cart? Where is your fnr switch and is there a toggle switch on top of the controller box?

Have you tried to measure the voltage across the solenoid? On one side you should be able to see pack voltage, on the other it will be less, when you depress the pedal that should activate the solenoid, your voltage should read close to pack voltage. Do you have a DVM?

check the micro swith in the foot pedal(under the floor mat). if the resistor is bad it will usually burn that switch up. If its bad replace it and the resistor and see what you get.

Longhorn

If you are referring to what happened to the cart you worked on I believe it was your diode, not the resistor.
