36v solenoid overheating
I just bought an 08 pds, I installed a high speed chip and applied some heat transfer compound between the controller and the heat sink, while me and my wife were cruising the neighborhood, I noticed that the speed had dropped from 19mph to about 16 and the solenoid is burning hot, no .loose cables or terminals, will upgrading to a heavy duty solenoid solve both my heat and speed issues, please help thanks.

Re: 36v solenoid overheating
Sounds like you are in need of a heavier duty solenoid. Stock is 70 amps. Most aftermarket solenoids are 200 amps. This will eliminate the solenoid as a bottleneck or weak point in the delivery system.
Ultimately you might want to upgrade the controller and a few cables as well... to really boost your performance |
