Could anyone tell me what year that the motor mounts straight into the rear end and not on top? the plate says it's a 96 but when i pulled it up to look at the wiring for the battery's it shows the battery's set 2x2x2 not 3 on each side. Thanks if anybody can help

In mid 1986 Ezgo started mounting the motor parallel to the rear axles, prior to that the motor mounted perpendicular to the axles.
