switching from forward to reverse

My ezgo sometimes does the following. When I put it in reverse, it moves forward and then violently changes to reverse. Then some times it will not go into reverse untill I switch the lever from forward to reverse several times. This happens about 60% of the time I put it in reverse.

Welcome to BGW!

My guess is you have a SEPEX drive cart like PDS or DCS. The controller does the directional switching. Your controller is beginning to fail.

Thanks, Scotty, does this mean I have to change the whole control box? It looks pretty big and expensive.

Yes, I have some inexpensive 300 amp PDS controls if you just want a basic replacement with only minor upgrades.

I am in Spain, so I think it will be better to look for the solution here. I just bought a s/h club for $70 and paid $45 for shipping and $55 for duty. Thanks for the help I really apreciate it......
