Question Loss of Power, 2 codes thrown, newbie needs some help

i have an 09 Ezgo PDS, sepex (at least thats what i think based on this website) thats lifted with 23" tires and a speed chip.

we've had it for a few months with no issues. no its starting to loss power up inclines on the road and goes very slow in the grass.

my batteries have enough water, the battery cables have some corsion and look wore out so tomorrow i'm picking up some new 2 gauage wire and will swap those out.

I'm getting a beep pause beep, beep, bepp (1-3). Then as i was looking at the box where the tow/run switch is i ran the diagnosis test key off, reverse to neutral 5 times and got beep, beep pause beep, beep (2-2).

how could i be getting 2 different codes one when driving and one not? what should i do next after i switch the battery cables? Also, where is the controller / solenoid located? is it under that box that has the tow/run switch?

The 1-3 code is a speed sensor fault and that makes sense with your symptoms.

The first codes when you enter diagnostic mode should be the mode of the performance option J2 jumper. In your case 4 beeps for "Freedom". Are you sure of pause?

Yes, under environmental cover you'll find the solenoid/controller.

Just FYI: Several have discovered that a stock PDS controller will eventually let the "magic smoke" out of the controller when running on 23" tires and the "Freedom chip". Rear seat? Check for heat everywhere when faulted.

Always switch system to Tow/Maint before doing any work.

Good luck.
