Default 48V KILL Switch

I want to install a switch between the batteries (48V System) and my voltage reducer so I can kill the power to the reducer to keep it from drawing amperage when the accessories are not in use. I've seen the relays some folks wire into the key switch, but i would rather just put in a disconnect and move on. Here's my question: I found a heavy duty battery disconnect at a local implement dealer. It says it is rated @ 175 amps continuous or 1000 amps instantaneous, or 6 to 36V. Will this disconnect handle my 48 volt Trojan T-875's?

Thanks in advance. PBB

You don't need anything that intense to use for a voltage converter/reducer! A 10amp switch will work fine! Radio Shack will have what you need.

You can also find switches at auto parts store.

If the switch will be exposed to rain, use a marine grade switch or one with a rubbed boot on the toggle.
