Your batteries are a bit over 2 years old, but judging from the cables attached to them, they weren't well maintained, so they may not be salvageable.

Here is a chart showing the voltages you should be reading 12 hours after the batteries are charged, and a trickle charger isn't going to charge them.

JohnnieB, Thanks for the link. I have a charger on order. It should be here sometime this week.

Also, I charged one of the 6V batteries until it was fully charged (or close). After charging it all day, it read 6.30 volts. 24 hours later I measured the voltage again and it read 6.03 volts. It was not used in between measuring the voltages. Is this a bad sign?

YES it is......I will bet a new set of batteries are in your future........that is if you want to use the cart anyway.

High current cables with lug ends needed after looking at pics in post 6 where wire is wrapped under the nut.
