Freedom shocking me
I have a EZGO Freedom (Western) It will shock me if I am touching the ground and the turn signal switch, I checked it with a voltmeter and it is the full 42 volts between the 2 points, I really got a shock driving back from our local pool, I was barefooted with my foot on the metal floor part, I used the turn signal and got bit. Its weird because the positive is the ground. Is this normal and if not whats the fix?? Thanks

Sometimes automotive type accessories are installed in electric carts, and the frame/body will end up being connected to either the Pos. or Neg. side of the battery pack. Were did you get the idea that Positive is ground? The automotive industry has been using Negative ground for years. |

Captain Pete,
Is it possible for you to duplicate the 'event' while someone takes a video of you? We can tell more if you post a clip, and we can see your hair stand on end and your eyes bug out. Standing by. |

Re: Freedom shocking me
OK, hopefully everyone is done laughing. I was digging into this more, I dont think it is accessories like previously thought. The metal threshold on the floorboard on both sides is positively charged with almost all the voltage. When I disconnect the power from the batteries the voltage drops very slow. Does that help?
