Default 69 hd wont start

Hey all! New to this forum. I have a 1969 harley davidson golf cart. My ran it out of gas and now i cant get it to run. Ive changed the spark plug, even tho there was no spark issue. Also changed the carb and spark plug wire. Im stumped. Cart ran great when it was going. I guess im just looking for some advice or tips on what to do before i tackle to much more on it. I know theres plenty of threads to search through. Just hoping to be steered in the right direction. Thanks everyone!

You may have lost prime in your fuel system. I use one of those big hypodermic needle looking marinade injectors that are use to insert marinade into meats to do mine. Take off the fuel line at the gas tank and get fuel all the way into the fuel pump anyway you get get it there. I bet you'll be ok from that point.

Update. So i primed the fuel pump, and i got the same results. So i took the points cover off and discovered the stationary point mounted to the side of the case was cracked and hanging. It wasnt making hardly any contact. So i held it and place to create contact and it took off. So, now i got to change the points and i believe i will be fine. Anybody know where avgood place to get parts are besides Amazon and ebay?

Most of use vintagegolfcartparts.com for things. The owner, Roderick Wilde, goes above and beyond to include sourcing parts when none can be found. He doesn't stock junk either.

I have used Roderick also a couple of time for high quality difficult to find parts. Very good to work with.
