Re: Yamaha g29 electric motor removal video needed
Just an update on the cart. I replaced the brushes and cleaned up the copper they contact with and it fixed the cart. The brushes weren’t actually worn out but think the black carbon powder inside the motor from the brushes wearing had got all in around the brushes and stopped them from sliding in and out smoothly with the spring. Replaced them anyway cause I had it all apart. Thanks for everyone’s replies.

Good deal. If it fixed it, then they were shot.

Good info. I have a 2010 G29 with the same symptoms - barely runs, if it does, it's very jerky. I bought new brushes and plan to tackle replacement this weekend. Hoping to have the same results.

Motor brushes and cleaning up the internal motor parts cured my issues too

Re: Yamaha g29 electric motor removal video needed
I believe that I have the same symptoms as HASTECH. If I push the pedal down to the floor or any ware in between, it goes no ware. If I push the pedal down with one foot then use my other foot to get a start, it will start with a jerk to your head back, then like stuffer to stay going. So is my issues the same as yours HASTECH? I know that I took the motor out of my cart and, blew out all the black dust with compressed air without any fix. If anyone has any thoughts; I would like to hear them please.
Things that I have looked at: batteries at 51+ volts, solenoid meters good. Switch under the floor good but not sure of the throttle position sensor yet. Thank you in advance. |

You may have a bad armature on your motor. A multimeter would tell you where.
I just went thru the symptoms in a club car precedent. If I pressed the pedal nothing. If I pressed the pedal and gave it a Fred Flintstone, it would jerk 4-5 times and then go fine til I came to a stop and started again. I opened up the motor and one of the copper wires on the armature was melted in two. I found a used motor for $250 and now all is well. . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
