Default 87 ds total overhaul and my first electric

Bought "frankenstein" and began the overhaul yesterday. Here is my plan so far.
87 club car frame, 48v batteries, solid state conversion kit from scotty with 500amp alltrax. New a1 motor because original had to be cut off. 6 inch GTW lift kit. New brake cables, shocks, and heavy duty rear springs. So basically building a cart from scratch.

Yesterday I stripped it down to frame and sanded and sandblasted most of it. Repaired the battery trays with new angle and then painted everything matte black. Today I will be opening up the brakes and inspecting, installing the rear spring and spraying the rear black.

Nice job! Did you upgrade the seats? I'm thinking of upgrading to the solid backrest.

Thank you. I had the fronts (stock) redone by an upholstery friend. While I modified a bunch of the cart I just wanted to keep the stock seating for some reason.

Here's a pic (before I changed out the body).

Ffemt1974,
What are you using to weld the frame with? That doesn't look like a TIG weld.

It's a spoolgun. I build aluminum dog boxes on the side. I have a tig also but that spoolgun is awesome. Millermatic 211 with the spoolmate 150.

So I received the kit from scotty b the other day. Started installing everything and ran into a diode issue but scotty was quick to respond. No big issue but excellent email response. I highly recommend cartsunlimited so far. Hopefully by tomorrow I will be ready to purchase a battery pack and test my wiring job out. The lift kit from gtw has some issues i dont like. Going to have to modify the tie rod to get the final toe alignment. I have it adjusted all the way in and it's still 3/4 " off front to back. Just received my diodes to finish the wiring and also installing a converter and fuse box today for future lights and what not.
