Re: EZGO rear axle exploded diagram
I just couldn't stand it. I replaced all the bolts & nuts with Zinc Plated Allen Head Bolts, hardened washers and zinc plated serrated flange nuts. (Fastenal)
At this point your probly wondering where the rest of it is...like the axles, etc....well...they are being custom made. The axle tubes were bent a wee bit....we cant have that now can we. Pics shortly to follow. |

Re: EZGO rear axle exploded diagram
Here are the custom axle tubes before welding anything on. These were machined from 2.25" A513 - type 5 DOM steel tubing.
Machined bearing mount and snap ring grooves to retain the axle bearing. The axles are a 1' axle. |

Re: EZGO rear axle exploded diagram
More Diff build pics
This is what I used as a holding fixture to weld the axle flanges back on. Its a machined piece. Crude but effective. Chucked the axle tube up in the spinny thing to MAKE SURE its all square. LOL! Figured I might as well clean it all up while I had it in the lathe. This is the semi finished part. Darn shame it will end up being painted. I'm going out to finish the rest, more pictures of the build to follow. |

Re: EZGO rear axle exploded diagram
Getting there.
Hmmm....polished with a nice thick clear coat......I dunno. I am not a machinist by trade so please forgive me if the machine work isn't to your standards. I know enough to be dangerous, obviously. Please forgive the "green glue". That is a Caterpillar gasket glue. It is some badass stuff. |

Re: EZGO rear axle exploded diagram
I think if we could get some clearcoat on them so they wont rust, that's the way to go. They look to nice to paint over.

Re: EZGO rear axle exploded diagram
Would you be able to tell me where you got the input shaft and axle seals from for this differential. Even part numbers will be helpful. I am having a hell of a time finding replacement, yet inexpensive, seals for my 94 rear.
