Default G16 no spark after hot

Ran cart about 1 mile, stopped to talk about 5 mins. went to take off motor will spin just not fire. Took spark plug out and grounded it NO spark. Replaced with new plug still no spark. Let it set for 2 hours started back up and ran.

Ran around for 30 mins stopped for 5 mins and again motor will spin no fire. I checked for again with spark plug and had none.
What would not allow it to fire when hot?
Many thanks in advance.

Thats an easy one. Replace the TCI (coil). It is under the air shroud on the passenger side of engine. I have fixed many of the exact same issue that way. I suggest using only a genuine yamaha one, unless you dont mind doing it again soon.

I can't like this enough. I found one on a site that was aftermarket and about a third the cost...I thought hey -- great deal i'll buy it. Turns out its out of spec for voltage / ohms for the G16 even tho it fits.....Now I have to spend more to get an OEM part....

Lesson learned the hard way -- if you're replacing the TCI like I had to - USE OEM!!!
