I just don't see how they can sell them that cheap. I know they make thousands and thousands of them at a time and then the cost to ship them over in a container. You can barely buy the jets and mixture screw for the oem carbs for 35$.

I am not using the carb I bought for $35.
After all of my trials with the rough running engine I went back with my old factory carb. All seems to be running well enough but it does have a slight sputter after I go down a large hill. My thoughts is while idling down the hill it is still pumping fuel into the engine but not burning it off. When I level out and push the gas pedal it will sputter for awhile. But smooths out after a bit. I also think the "aftermarket" air filter and mesh screen both are too dense. Not actually designed for the Yamaha G16. Just seems it is starving for air. So, with the advice of you guys that replied I am scrapping the China carb and air filter. And I will opt for a Yamaha brand air filter. I guess dad was right. "You get what you pay for." |
