Default Need help now

On my way to look at a 1988 gas marathon right now. Motor runs but will not move. What do I look for?

I greatly appreciate any immediate responses.

See if the clutches are squeezing in and out while revving.

Belt should be 1 3/16" wide.

See if it rolls without the belt on. Brakes could be hanging up.

Also see if the engine is really running, or if it is just turning with the starter

What would a new clutch cost?

Driven clutch $215 here
Amazon.com : EZGO Golf Cart Driven Clutch for 76-88 Model Carts : Golf Cart Accessories : Sports & Outdoors Amazon.com : EZGO Golf Cart Driven Clutch for 76-88 Model Carts : Golf Cart Accessories : Sports & Outdoors

Drive clutch here $203 blockbustergolfcarts.com/driveclutche-z-gogas2cycle1976-88.aspx

Probably better off repairing them.

I backed out. It moved a little but I think it was the starter doing all the work.

Bummer. 88 is the year to have for the 2 strokes. 3 or 4 hundred bucks purchase price would have been worth rebuilding the engine.

I could easily rebuild the starter on this for nothing, but my oldest daughter is a newly minted lawyer. Her student loans, and living expenses are costing me 2 grand a month right now. She better hurry up with that job.

I'm looking to see what I have to trade for it.
