Default Would really appreciate some cart buying help!!!

Going to look a cart today and need some advice. Guy says he thinks its a 2004 or 05. The exterior looks a little rough but I have my 2000 electric that should give me enough donor parts to fix this up without much expense.

Seller wants $1500. Claims it fires right up and is pretty fast. Other than cosmetics it supposed to be ready to roll.

What do I need to be looking for on this? I have ZERO experience with gas carts. Also, would the lift off my 2000 fit? Here are the pics I got. It's a 2 hour drive so I hate to waste my time. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like a good find. It has the newer Kawasaki engine. Fire it up and drive it. If it runs good & don't smoke I would jump on the price.... so long as the frame is not rotted or some other major problem I would buy it.

Thanks Scottyb. What's that deal on the front axle? I'm assuming its a tow hook?

Still looking at doing the upgrades to the electric we talked about in order to make the electric more enticing for future sale.

I'm thinking that is a 2008 or newer cart, due to the Kawasaki engine. It could be an older cart that was upgraded, but unlikely. Your 2000 lift probably won't be compatible. The steering system changed starting with the 2001.5 models. Still seems like a good deal if it runs well.

Yeah, from my digging around I figured the lift wouldn't work.

Engine wise should I be looking for anything other than water in the oil or oily plugs?

Smoke, hard starting, and if you are serious a quick compression test.

Alright, based on serial # and engine manufacture date it's a 2012. Major flaw is it has an aftermarket a haunt that makes it loud as hell. Major benefit... I got it for $1000.00!😀

I'm courious why the motor didn't have a dip stick in it.
That's not a great motor if the governor has been turned up and it doesn't have high speed gears in it. Check it closely
