Ez Go marathon wiring diagram.

Semi-new guy here, I lost my old user name and password from years ago.

I have a Ez Go (G2291), I'm looking for a wiring diagram for. The Ez go manual I own is different than how this cart is wired.

The cart came to me barn fresh, and some wiring has been changed possibly.
What my issue is, the cart will run with a battery charger. As soon as you remove the jumpers the cart will die.
The S/G brushes are good, took that apart and cleaned with elec cleaner also.
Voltage reg is new, the old one was rusted up.
ALL connection's are clean.
I'm getting voltage on the solenoid when the cart is running.
I'm thinking something at the solenoid is not wired right?
I'm kinda at a loss for ideas.

I'm sure someone will be along wo has a diagram, just a few questions....your hooking the charger up to your battery or after the solenoid? What is your battery voltage without the charger? Will it crank and not start without the charger or do nothing at all? If it will crank and not start what is the voltage at the battery while cranking without the charger and not running?

With a good battery the cart will run, until the battery goes below 12 volts. From what I understand the coil will not produce spark below 12 volts.
When the cart is running I have 15 + volts on the solenoid lead.

Some how I must need a hot wire returning to the + to charge the battery?

On the solenoid S terminal:
green going to coil
red coming from V.R.
red going to gas pedal switch

green from S/G to going to V.R

Hot from battery to solenoid along with fused lead to key switch

The other side goes to S/G

Ok so if I'm understanding you've narrowed it down to "the cart is not charging the battery" correct? If this is accurate can you possibly charge the battery to make it run without the charger and get a voltage reading to see if your getting a good charging voltage off of the S/G? I'd like to help you verify your wiring but the only diagram I have is for a 2pg/3pg I got out of the stickies section for a HEI conversion

Edit: after re reading are you saying you have 15 volts off the solenoid without the charge and the cart running? Or with the charger and the cart running?

I have 15+ volts on the S terminal of the solenoid. Battery voltage will drop with the cart running. (no charger hooked up)

This leads me to believe the S/G is working correctly, But I can't feed voltage back to the battery.

Did you look at the diagram in the 3pg HEI mod stickie? Not sure if it will help you or not but the diagram looks similar to what you described above
