Unhappy G1 blows puffs of air from exhaust when TRYING to start

As my title states, my g1 puffs air out of exhaust when turning over trying to start. My wife and kids took it out for a ride, it stopped running and now this is all it will do. Help please!!!!

turns over but wont start. It does not smoke. If I hold my hand over the exhaust while trying to start I can feel, as well as hear, air being forced out of the exhaust each time the motor turns over. also I understand about the engine moving air in and out, this next part will sound silly but its the only way I know to describe it. If youve ever heard a deer in the woods blow before they run off, thats what this sounds like.

Check spark check to see if it's getting fuel check compression

All engines are air pumps pulling air in thru the carburetor and pushing it out the exhaust. Have you checked for spark? Is your fuel pump Supplying fuel to the carb?
