Reverse gear not engageing Gas Yamaha G16
Gas Yamaha G16, Forward gear working ok, when lever is moved to reverse engine runs but no reverse gear. Have tried moving the cable bar on the splined shaft that comes out of the gearbox but still can't engage reverse. Any ideas please.

Is the lever on the transmission moving equal amounts both ways? (Have to pay close attention to this)

I have the same problem with my 2001 G16. In reverse, it makes a buzzing/squealing noise and runs like it is in neutral.
