Default 1979 G1 carburetor

I have been looking around for a rebuilding kit for a 79 G1 carburetor but cannot find anything. Do any of you guys know where I can find one? My cart runs decent but thinking the carburetor needs rebuilt. It has to use the choke pretty often. I ordered one online but it ended up being for a 83+ I believe and did not work.

When a g1 needs lots of choke most times means seals are bad on crank,i have seen them so bad you can see the bearing behind it and they will still run.if the carb works just clean it and you will be fine

Do you have a part number for the one you ordered? The ones I have seen are just a little different. I am not a mechanic by any means. How do I tell if the seals are bad on the crank?

The description on Amazon is "High-performance Golf Cart Carburetor For Yamaha G1 1983-1989 Carb with 2 Cycle engine". Unfortunately I can't post a link because i haven't been a forum member long enough.

I thought all g1's were the same...guess not. althought a good cleaing would probably do the trick. I agree she probably needs crank seals.
these are great old carts, with a little work dead reliable tanks.
