Re: Melted/Overheated A1 & A2 cables
Looking good! That commutator does not look that bad.
I would work it more but it does not have to be perfect. See my attached pic in earlier post. Even though the brushes are a little chipped they should be ok. Polish them up with some super fine 600 / 1200 grit. Replace both crossover wires and replace the bearing and reassemble. Do not use lubricant in there, just assemble and insure the springs contact the topside of the brushes after you install the armature core. You park them on the side of the brush to hold in place when you install the armature core. Then reposition them to the top of the brush. Brushes will conform the cleaned up commutator in a short while. That blob is for motor balance. |

Re: Melted/Overheated A1 & A2 cables
I will work on that. I am still a little unsure on the parts. The crossover wires are listed for ezgo carts. They look like they are similar to mine but nothing I find references a Yamaha. Also, I need to find the correct bearing. Cgtech confirms this is a GE motor but I can’t find any references for this motor using the info on the motor label for parts.

Call Luna Rebuilders, they were the original retailers of that motor under the brand "Hi torque motors".

Re: Melted/Overheated A1 & A2 cables
I put the motor and cart back together and everything is working well. Cart seems a little faster than before. All the wires are just a little warmer than ambient temperature after a long drive. Thanks for everyone’s help.
