Yamaha Drive (G29) Electrical Issue

I have a G29 that we purchased used last year and am having some trouble as we open up at the campground this season.

When I turn the key to on there is no click from the solenoid. I did a quick Google search to troubleshoot the solenoid and found that I'm not getting voltage at the small terminals even when the wife was WOT on the accelerator.

From there I ran a quick continuity test on the back of the on/off switch and I do have continuity when the golf cart is turned on. I'm afraid that's about where my knowledge of what to do ends....


Can anyone help with what may be the cause of this electrical issue, as I think I've narrowed it down to somewhere after the switch but before the solenoid (admittedly maybe at/after the solenoid too, but can't really test that till we get voltage to it).

If the cart has been sitting for awhile, make sure batteries are charged up, and if you have too, reset the cart.

Batteries are good, tested all with meter and have 48 volts.

Is there a procedure for this "reset" you mention?

Key off, run/tow switch in tow, and pull the 3 amp main fuse. Let cart sit for about a minute. Put the fuse back in, run tow switch back to run and turn key switch on. If you hear the solenoid click, your good to go.

3A fuse is blown so thats likely the source of my issue. I didnt know that fuse was there so thanks for pointing it out.

Will let you know if its fixed after I get a replacement fuse.

If the 3 amp fuse blew, you may have other issues. Rare that fuse blows.

Problem all fixed, 3a fuse was blown.

I'll keep an eye out for other issues, but the cart ran fine yesterday so hopefully all is well.

If the cart has an upgraded Alltrax controller, that 3A fuse is to be switched out with a 10A. FYI

New to this tread. Can you tell me where this 3 amp fuse is located?
