Default My 86 G2 build

I figured I'd get this started so here we go. This is a picture my wife sent me after she picked it up.

Looks like it’s in good shape. Nice wheels and tires too.

Thanks LukeL. It is in pretty good shape for it's age. I won't be using the wheels and tires as I am putting some 23x12 meats on it.

Talking Re: My 86 G2 build

Quick story...upon returning from a road trip for work, I called my local Yamaha dealer with a few questions and they transferred me to SmallBlock450SL aka. Dave. After shooting the breeze for a few minutes he asked if I wanted to bring my cart by and let him have a look. So of course I said absolutely! I took it over and met Dave the following Sunday. What a great guy and very knowledgeable with some 35 years in the golf cart business. My build started that day when Dave said the engine needed rings and we yanked it out. He checked over the entire cart and found that I should replace both of the clutches, some cables and misc. springs. I left that day with my cart, an armload of engine covers to clean and a friend.

This was taken at SmallBlocksas he was disassembling the engine.

Here are some pressure washing pictures. Notice the front body pieces...after pressure washing, the clean body felt like it was sand blasted. Very rough, i will eventually try to get it in paintable condition.

This was all within a week of meeting SmallBlock450sl. My wife came out to the garage and was in total disbelief. She said this cart was driving a week ago! Hahaha

After some cleanup and painting, Dave came over to help install the Jakes 7" double A-arm lift. I think Dave may have been a little surprised of my progress.
