Default G2 axle removal

Are there any c-clips or pins inside the pinion housing that I need to remove before I can slide the axles out of the housing?

I'm trying to replace the brake assemblies, but cant take them off with the axles in place.

I thought I read that the axles are just held on by the flange that holds the brakes. I removed that flange, and the axles wont budge.

Am I missing something?
Thanks
Shawn

If you removed the 4 bolts behind the brake shoes, then yes the axle should slide out. If not, put your brake drum on backwards, put the lug nuts on just a few turns so the brake drum is loose on the studs. Now use the brake drum as a slide hammer and yank on the brake drum until the axle comes out

I tapped it but it didnt move. Should the bearing stay in the axle tube or slide out with the axle?

I'll tap a little harder...

I meant, I forgot the Yamaha has the flange on the end of the axle with the studs, you have something to beat on. Ezgo just has a straight axle with out the brake drum on there. So there is nothing to beat on. I like Yamaha's. I have two

Hit it on the top of the flange, and the bottom. It will come out. Some can be hard. A slide hammer works great too
