Advice on purchasing a g2/g9 gas
I’m lookin into my first cart, found this one near by. Just test drove and had a quick look over it.
Cranked right up and ran good with no weird sounds. Just by sight, It looked good in the engine bay with minimal rust on frame. Seller will put new tires on it also. The the seller also said it came from a Canadian golf course and now it’s here in coastal GA. I’m looking for advice on problems to say away from on these carts and for an estimated price. He’s asking $1900, doesn’t sound bad to me but I’m not very knowledgeable on golf carts. IMG_0946.JPG Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That G2 looks great. You can't go wrong with a G2/G9 cart. I love mine...

Re: Advice on purchasing a g2/g9 gas
Looks like the body is in good shape. Pretty yellowed but some paint will fix that up pretty easily.
Check clutches for wear, on the insides where the belt rides they should be perfectly flat. If they're "wavy" theyll need replaced. They're a couple hundred bucks each. Grab the front wheels and give them a shake, both left to right and top to bottom. Thata a G2 so from late 80's. Steering may be pretty well worn if it hasn't been addressed already. Check the frame for rust. Underneath the battery is common but make sure the larger "tube" under the battery is solid. I'd also recommend a quick compression test if theyll let you. Check the spark plug when you pull it to check compression. Should be in the 160-175 range. G2/G9 are awesome carts. I love my G9. Almost sold it a couple months ago but decided I didnt want to and sold my ezgo instead :) As for the price, all depends on condition of the stuff underneath. For a stock G2 I personally think 1900 is a bit high. I've seen a few G2's here in GA that are in a bit better shape and the guy has had them listed for $1750ish for months and they dont seem to go anywhere. Depending on what kind of work that needs I'd pay 1200-1500, but for under 2k theres plenty of gas G2/G9 around here I've seen lately to pick from. |

Thank you for taking the time to explain. I have a feeling this cart is gonna sell to someone else. But if I get a chance to make an offer this week I’ll be more thorough. Also, how did you ID is as a G2 instead of a G9? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The G2 has the white steering column, aluminum trim and the rubber bump guard on the sides
