Default Spark plug noise

I have a G9 Yamaha golf cart I install the stereo it work fine for about a month now there static you can hear the engine noise in it what could have caused that I wonder do I need a resistor spark plug cap for spark plug and why would it just start making static noise

Original cap is resistor I believe.

Might check your running voltage. Most Yamaha's I've come across are charging at a bit over 16 volts - too high for most car stereos. The fact that you didn't have the static to begin with and do now, makes me wonder if you're cooking that stereo with a voltage beyond what it's designed to handle. May have nothing to do with your problem, but it's just a thought.

This is probably more accurate. Voltage is out of nominal.operating range for the radio. Look at the spec sheet in the kwners manual that came with it, I'd bet it says operating voltage is spec'd at 10-15 volts dc.

And it is a resistor spark plug cap, I believe 5k. But the cap isnt bad or it probably wouldnt run. Typically when those caps fail, they fail "open" so it wouldnt run.
