2013 gas club car golf cart

With my golf cart, yesterday I was having a problem with it not catching any gears so I figured out at the back rear end it had slipped off of a screw that it sides down onto a pulley. So I fixed it and whenever I turned the key over it would start just fine it would run but it wouldn’t go anywhere until I fix that then it was fine. Well last night I came back and I had accidentally left the key on and it wouldn’t start so I figured it was the battery so I jumped it off and I charged it. It’s still won’t start but the lights come on and the horn etc works. can someone give me any ideas on what could be the problem???
