Default 2008 Club Car Precedent Runs great, cuts out when it heats up.

My cart runs great when it is cold for about 10 minutes, then as it heats up it sputters until eventually it will not hit a lick. This started all of a sudden yesterday so I replaced the fuel pump with a 2.5/4 psi electric fuel pump. I also pulled the carb and cleaned it as well. It was also backfiring which I ensured the throttle linkage was allowing the butterfly to close. I also disconnected the rpm limiter ground to ensure that was not cutting it out, and when unplugged the spark plug to make sure I am getting spark the entire time. Looking for some assistance because honestly I have tried everything I know. I have a video of how it is acting but I don’t think I can upload it.

Most likely the ignition coil is failing. Common issue on those.

Run it until it quits and then put a spare spark plug in the plug wire. You should get a big bright blue-white spark. If it’s yellow or dim then it’s almost certainly the coil failing.

I will try that tomorrow for sure, sad thing is I just replaced this coil a few months ago. I guess that’s how it goes. Another question, does this carb have a factory setting for the lean rich screw?

Did you use a genuine Kawasaki coil?
Problem with aftermarket coils is they just don’t last. Often they’re dud right out of the box.

The only adjustment is for the idle mixture screw, which should be limited if it still has the factory carb. If it’s an aftermarket replacement it will not have the limit block on the screw, in that case turn the screw in until it just barely seats and then back out 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 turn.
This only effects the fuel mixture when starting, after the throttle plate is open it has little or no effect since the main jet in the center of the carb provides the majority of fuel.
