heavy duty rear spring install help
I ordered heavy duty rear springs for my G22. They came in today with no install instructions. They are not Jakes springs. If I use a spring compressor will I be able to remove the retainer and reuse it? Thanks

Re: heavy duty rear spring install help
Welcome to the forum john,
The g22 has coil over rear springs, I believe. You'll need something to compress the spring and remove the retainer. Check the retainer for fit on the new springs. If it fits you remove the old spring and continue the installation of the new spring using the old retainer. If there are any adjustments on the shock for spring tension, be sure they are set as low as possible. I would assume that coming with no parts or instructions that would be the only option. Good Luck on the install. Tony |

Re: heavy duty rear spring install help
I have looked at the Jakes kit and it appears to come with a two piece retainer. My springs did not come with anything so did not want to tear them apart and find out I need something else to put them together again. The springs are Red Hawk heavy duty.

Re: heavy duty rear spring install help
My springs are NOT Jakes. I purchased from everything carts. They are red hawk brand and did NOT come with the two piece collar, only springs. I am assuming the only way to change them will be with a compressor.
