New 5' lift kit, in search for some bigger tires
I have a 1985 marathon that me and my brother just installed a 5 inch lift kit on. Love the way the cart looks with the lift but now we really want to get some bigger tires for it to make it look even better! Just looking for some feedback...
1) What size should we shoot for and where are some places to search for some good deals? 2) Anyone on here selling any sets of tires and would like to make a deal? |

Re: New 5' lift kit, in search for some bigger tires
With 5"-lift shoot for 22",maybe 23"s'.Most run 22"x11"-8" or 10"-rims.Check the site-sponsors or places like Tractor-Supply,Walmart,Atv-Suppliers,Tire-Dealers,etc...The rims can run anywhere from $15-$100 each,it just depends on what you want to spend.Hope this helps.

Re: New 5' lift kit, in search for some bigger tires
I'm looking to keep my original rims and just get larger tires only. Not trying to get anything fancy, so definitely going to try lowballing around to find something just to make the cart look a little more tough with the lift kit! My brother just picked up a winch for us to from craigslist and got a great deal! 3000 lb for just $50.

Re: New 5' lift kit, in search for some bigger tires
Just some points to consider. 22 inch tires on 8 inch rims will work however if your usage is mainly hard surface then you should avoid the really aggressive patterns, they are great in the mud but noisy and bouncy on the road. In addition if you do go that route don't go cheap. Those 2 ply tires have a great deal of flexibility in the side walls which again adds instability to your ride.
If I was on a budget I think I would head off to the breakers yard and find 4 13 inch wheels to fit (there is a list in the tech forum) and cheer them up with some wheel trims or just spray them to match the cart. Dave |

Re: New 5' lift kit, in search for some bigger tires
There are tons of options for wheels/tires in 8",10",12",and 13" diameter. There isn't anything wrong with 2-ply ATV-tires if you mostly run off-road.For Off-Road,They are the way to go,especially on a budget.Stock wheels won't fit with 22's on the rear, they will hit the swing-arm and shock.I made spacers for mine, moved them out an inch or so,but they were still very close. For under $40,a pair of 8" offset-wheels will be worth it.Hope this helps.
