An electric fuel pump won't push fuel through the carb. If you have bad crank seals, you won't have sufficient vacuum to draw enough air through the carb to draw fuel. It is usually noticed first with hard starts.

Re: crank shaft seals questions 88 easy go
for the clutch remove the bolt..insert a 3/8 steel rod about 3 to 4 inches long into the hole, then use a bolt that fits in the threads in the outer part of the clutch (some use 3/4 inch fine threat bolt...mine was smaller, but can't remember size). Tighten bolt down onto the rod and this will push the clutch off....I found it best to soak it with Blaster oil and use an impact wrench. For the flywheel, you will have to use a puller using 6mm (I think) long bolts.

Re: crank shaft seals questions 88 easy go
looks like I have a blown lower head gasket. that would be a big vacuum leak to not put in air / fuel mixture right??? anything I need to know when I pull off the head and replace those gaskets?
think I am going to be lazy and skip the crank seal. I can always tear it back down if it don't run. |

Re: crank shaft seals questions 88 easy go
That would be your base gasket. Pretty straight forward just don't over torque. Replace the rings while you are at it. One thing you can do is not remove the head therefore saving you having to buy a head gasket. I would say yes hopefully you found your air leak. While it is running if you can spray starting fluid around the blown area. If the engine revs up you found your leak. You may have to jack up the rear of the cart for this so your cart will run without moving.
